FAQ's

Collapsible content

How long does Extra Virgin Olive Oil last?

We recommend consuming our Extra Virgin Olive Oil within 2 years of harvesting which always occurs between May-June. A common misconception is that you can age oil like wine.. that's a big no no, the sooner, the better!

Where should I store my EVOO?

EVOO keeps best when it is stored out of direct sunlight. So make sure to pop the bottles back into there boxes or store away from the sunshine once unwrapped!

Can I cook with EVOO?

ABSOLUTELY! Our EVOO has a high smoke point (usually exceeding 200 degrees celsius). This means it's uses are extensive and a great healthy alternative to frying with unhealthy oils.

What is the difference between Olive Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil?

Unlike Olive Oil, EVOO has considerable processing laws in
Australia. In order to legally sell a bottle labelled EVOO, there must be no chemicals used during processing and there are strict guidelines as to the temperature the oil can be extracted at. Due to these laws, Olive Oil producers will often take the Pommus (byproduct of EVOO) and heavily process it to strip as much remaining oil as possible - unfortunately, by this stage all the
goodness has gone.

What are the main differences between EVOO and vegetable oil?

Vegetable oil is a bit of a myth.. In fact there are no vegetables used in the process of making vegetable oil, rather canola, soybeans, cotton seeds, sunflower seeds.. The list goes on.

Unlike EVOO, vegetable oil is highly processed and uses both
heat and chemical extraction, meaning the end product lacks all the goodness you are served in a bottle of EVOO.

Health

How is EVOO healthy if it is fatty?

EVOO is made up of monounsaturated fatty acids and whilst the name suggests one thing, the reality is that this type of fat has an abundance of health benefits ranging from weight loss, reduced risk of heart and brain disease to decreased inflammation

How does EVOO help with brain health?

We are constantly excited by the ongoing results research brings to light regarding brain health and EVOO. One of the most positive results of including EVOO in your diet is the increased growth of 2 critical brain chemicals - brain-developed neurotrophic factor and nerve growth factor.

In simpler terms, EVOO encourages the repair of damaged brain cells and growth of new cells. This can result in reduced stress, an increased ability to transmit information (e.g., processing sight and sound) and improved memory and information intake.
